Previous bidder on property withdraws from Sadleir House, but remains interested in North House (755 George St. N.).
The Trustees request that the closing date be extended ninety days to facilitate the resolution of finance conditions.
It is noted that there has not been a second meeting with the Trent U. Fincance Office (see 08/05/03). Dwayne Collins is asked to schedule a meeting as soon as possible.
Dwayne is also pursuing the development of a Levy Reporting Policy with Trent U. along with other Trent student groups.
John Muir and Richard Taylor begin work on Operating By-laws for the consideration of the Trustees

City of Peterborough Planning Committee rezones property for Commercial use and severs the North House and Sadleir House (including the garden space) from the rest of the property.
As the previous bid for the property included the provision that Sadleir House be severed from the Garden, this severence qualifies as a condition of non-performance allowing that bid to be withdrawn

In order to facilitate financing, a meeting is held with Trent University to secure at letter of comfort regarding the remission of levy funds. A second meeting is to be held two weeks following

First meeting of the Downtown Student Facility Trust including Friends of the Trust

This trust is only in place until such time as DSF can be incorporated. Shortly following incorporation - possibly Oct/Nov '03 - there will be a General Meeting of the Membership where a general election of the Board of Directors will occur.

7:00pm - Second Trent Student Facility meeting - Peter Robinson, Townhouse #1
it was resolved that, seven people would form "DOWNTOWN STUDENT FACILITY TRUST" to further the aims set out in the above cited referendum and at the previous meeting of the group held on 20 March 2003, and to establish and incorporate this trust as "DOWNTOWN STUDENT FACILITY"

We secured the services of Richard Taylor as the lawyer for the Trust. As well, we are working with Scott Douglas as our Real Estate Agent

First public meeting to brain-storm a name and elicit people begin the project in earnest. Those present chose the name 'Trent Student Facility' With the following mission:

To purchase an existing building in the City of Peterborough close to a Trent bus route to create and operate a non-profit, cultural and educational student facility. sponsored and operated by the students of Trent University to be shared with the community as a whole and governed by an independent Board of Directors?

A majority of this Board shall be enrolled students of Trent University, and shall be drawn from among the student body, the organisation's volunteers and the community at large.

The facility may include provision of rental accommodation, meeting rooms, offices, dining areas, and performance space.

To establish secure funding including the creation of an annual $22 levy from the fulltime students of Trent University indexed to the Consumer Price Index.

The TCSA Board of Directors ratify the Election and Referendum results. John Muir (Chair - "Yes Campaign Committee") is notified so that those involed may move forward with further planning.

13/02/03

Polling closes on the Referendum administered by the Trent Central Student Association With the majority of voting students supporting the creation of a $22.00 to support the building project. The Referendum made quorum making the results binding.
